Mimicking nature does always seem like a good idea. When nature comes up with a solution over periods of hundreds and thousands of years you can pretty much be assured that it’s the best solution for the job. Nature though hasn’t quite worked out how to fill the sandy spots on this planet that we call deserts. I guess because no real reason for Nature to grow green bits there. But for us humans, that are multiplying by the millions in a short amount of time, it is crucial that we can use every square metre to support our kind.
Well.. apparently by actually mimicking how seeds develop to plants when dropped by birds in their excrement, some clever people have been able to support growth of plants in barren areas like desert.
